I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist who is committed to providing evidence-based therapy for individuals with a genuine and human approach. I specialize in the treatment of trauma-related and anxiety disorders. Over the past 6 years, I have worked with patients to address difficulties associated with posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and body image/eating-related concerns. I am passionate about working with individuals to help them learn new approaches to responding to difficult thoughts and feelings and engage in more effective coping strategies so that they may life a more meaningful and fulfilled life.
I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I received extensive training in treating trauma and stressor-related disorders and anxiety disorders. I then went on to complete my clinical residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center where I received further, specialized training in evidence-based approaches to treating posttraumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders. More specifically, I have specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Written Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety Disorders, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am also trained as a health psychologist and have experience working with individuals who have medical diagnoses that impact their psychological functioning.
